Meet Jake
Our journey with Angelman syndrome (AS) began when Jake was two-years-old.
This diagnosis changed everything. My mission became clear: to raise awareness of Angelman syndrome and advocate for Jake in every space he entered–with our community, school staff, medical providers, or the programs designed to support him. It wasn’t enough for people to know Jake; they had to understand him. They needed to know what to do if he had a seizure, how to communicate with him when he couldn’t use his words, and how to help him success at school and in therapy.
Thanks to your donations, we’ve been able to access the tools, education, and community support we desperately needed. Because of this support, Jake is not just surviving; he’s thriving. He’s involved in school, sports, and his community. He’s surrounded by friends, peers, and staff who not only love him but who understand him–because they’ve been given the knowledge they need to do so.
